🍴 Gratin with Meatballs, Zucchini, and Cheese

Ingredients:

300g meatballs marinated with garlic and spices

1 onion, thinly sliced

2 zucchini (courgettes), thinly sliced

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons tomato sauce

200ml cooking cream

150g grated mozzarella cheese

50g Parmesan cheese (optional)

Salt + pepper + thyme or rosemary

Method:

  1. In a hot pan, fry the onion in the oil until softened.
  2. Add the meatballs and spices and let them brown.
  3. Add the tomato sauce and let the mixture infuse the flavor.
  4. In an ovenproof dish, spread a layer of zucchini, top with the meatballs, and sprinkle with cheese.
  5. Pour the cream and alternate layers (zucchini + kofta + cheese).
  6. Finally, add a generous layer of mozzarella and Parmesan.
  7. Bake at 180°C until the surface is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serving Instructions:
Serve hot with a light salad or a cup of tea/coffee ☕.
