Moist Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

For the cake

1¾ cups all-purpose flour

¾ cup cocoa powder

1½ cups sugar

1½ teaspoons baking powder

1½ teaspoons baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

2 eggs

1 cup milk

½ cup vegetable oil

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup hot water or hot coffee

For the chocolate frosting

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3½ cups powdered sugar

½ cup cocoa powder

¼ cup melted dark chocolate (optional but richer)

3–5 tablespoons milk or cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 170°C (350°F). Grease and line two round cake pans.

In a large bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla, then mix until smooth.

Slowly stir in the hot water or coffee. The batter will be thin—this is normal.

Pour the batter evenly into prepared pans and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Allow cakes to cool completely before frosting.

Chocolate Frosting

Beat butter until creamy.

Add powdered sugar and cocoa powder gradually.

Mix in melted chocolate, vanilla, and milk until smooth and spreadable.

Assemble

Spread frosting between cake layers, then cover the top and sides generously.

Slice and enjoy a super moist, rich chocolate cake.
